I'm Thankful for...
I will not be around a computer on Thanksgiving, so I thought I'd write a post about what I'm thankful for. I think many people take things for granted. We could not do many things we enjoy if we didn't have the tools, equipment, etc to do them with! So here's a list of the things I am thankful for...
Family, I would not bet he person I am today without the family I have. Being raised on the Golden Rule & the Ten Commandments really set me straight! I am thankful I was spanked as a kid, it taught me my parents meant business and right from wrong. I am thankful I was raised on traditional values that taught me to be appreciative of the simple things in life and material things are just material things at the end of the day. The fact that almost everyone in my family fishes, hunts and goes camping all the time is another plus!
Freedom, I would not be free if it weren't for the men and women of the United States armed forces. I am thankful that they have fought for my freedom and laid their life on the line so I can be free, have my own beliefs, the right to bear arms, freedom of speech, etc. I have the utmost respect for my dad, for fighting in Vietnam as a Marine, in one of the most memorable battles, putting his life on the line and undergoing VERY close calls several times. Your metals were rightfully earned!
Hunting, I would not be able to hunt without a rifle or bow, and binoculars, camouflage and a great teacher make my hunting more successful. So I am not only thankful that I am given the opportunity to hunt, but for the tools and teachings that allow me to have a successful hunt.
Food, I am thankful that I do not have to go hungry, I am able to put food on the table, and my momma who taught me how to prepare meals and appreciate every meal I eat.
Education, I am thankful that my first two years of college was paid for by a full athletic scholarship and the memories that were made during those two years. I am thankful that I received a bachelor of science degree from Oklahoma State University. I am thankful that I was given the opportunity to go to graduate school, and will be receiving my master of science degree from Oklahoma State University in December of 2011.
Friends, I am thankful for the friends I have. I'm very picky on the friends I choose, another thing I was taught growing up. My friends are amazing, they are always there for me and I will always be there for them. Good friends are hard to find!
Job, I am thankful I am able to pursue a full-time salary job while I am also a full-time graduate student. I'm very busy, but very thankful I am not pinching pennies to get by anymore!
Adam, I am thankful my friends dragged me out of the house the night I met Adam. It's funny how things work out the way they do, at just the right time, to make certain moments happen. I couldn't be happier!
