The drought/extreme heat did take out a good portion of our garden this summer. But not our chives! I had chives in my salads all summer. A few weeks ago, before the first projected frost, I went out and cut all the remaining chives, chopped them up and dried them in the oven. Now I have a bunch of dried chives for the winter.
