This past weekend we made our first trip to Kansas this fall.
We went to the Fredonia homecoming parade and saw a lot of friends and several people Adam hadn't seen in years. It was great, and I came home with a sweet little whiskey barrel...well I guess I didn't come home with it because I left it at Kevin's house. I'm so mad at myself for that.
I was so excited about this barrel, it was only $15 and had a lid that you could open, with rusty hinges and everything! I have so many ideas for it.
Then we went to visit a friend of ours, he lives at the foot of the Flint Hills in Kansas. We hadn't been to his new house yet. Let me tell you, it was gorgeous! He's surrounded by some really pretty country! I'm pretty jealous. I made the boys a steak dinner, and we got up really early and it ended up being southeastern Kansas' first frost. We went driving around looking for deer and saw so much more. We saw deer and turkey and some really cool old houses and barn.
It was a nice trip, seeing a bunch of friends and being in the country!
