Good Mothers

A lot of people refer to cattle as dumb animals. However, they are smarter than you think.

We are weaning calves this week. Last night a momma cow jumped the fence and walked up to the road, walked half a mile and turned down another road and went to the pasture that she and her calf were in. She was trying to find her calf. Even though her calf was in a pen next to her where they were being weaned.

She sure did have a sense of direction, especially in the middle of the night!
