This idea just popped up in my head when I bought some nutella at the grocery store the other day. I was so excited about my grand idea. I made the strawberries and made Adam be my taste tester. Needless to say, he had 4 of the strawberries before dinner and 7 after dinner. The last few were finished off the next day in no time! These are really easy and super delish!
First, wash your strawberries and make sure they are good and dry before beginning the process. Remove the stems and core a little bit out of the strawberry like in the picture above.
You will need a jar of nutella, not the whole jar, but this stuff can be used for many things! Nutella can be found at most grocery stores, I got mine at Wal-Mart, either by the jelly and peanut butter or in the specialty food isle.
A can of hard shell dipping chocolate. I bought the microwavable kind to cut out extra time and dishes and it worked out just fine!
Next, fill each strawberry with nutella to the top of the strawberry like in the picture above. A butter knife works just fine. Place all the strawberries on some sort of plate or dish where they are all standing up. Put the strawberries in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Remove from the freezer and dip the top side, nutella side, in the warm dipping chocolate. When you dip the strawberries, don't dip them too deep into the chocolate, you might lose the strawberry into the sea of chocolate! Dip about 1/4 of the strawberry into the chocolate and swirl them in a quick motion, this helps you to hold onto the strawberries. Since you are holding the strawberries from the smaller side, it can be kind of tricky holding onto them, slippery suckers. You'll get the hang of it.
Place the nutella filled chocolate covered strawberries on a sheet of waxed paper so the chocolate can harden.
mmm I want one right now!
Viola! Try em!
